8/14/2017 - AZREIA Phoenix Monthly Meeting

"Haves and Wants"
&

Congressman David Schweikert

August is highlighted by our very special guest presenter, Congressman David Schweikert. There are several pending issues in Congress that may affect real estate investing and with a background in real estate investing and former AZREIA member, Mr. Schweikert is highly qualified to get you up-to-date. We begin the meeting with a very effective structured networking session - Haves and Wants

5:15 PM PHOENIX WORKSHOP:  Haves and Wants
Structured networking is a proven way to maximize the exchange of information among larger groups of people who share common interests.  Haves and Wants is a great example of structured networking that really works.  An integral part of every Phoenix Real Estate Club meeting, we feel it is important to offer it at AZREIA meetings a couple of times a year. Imagine being able to share your haves and wants with hundreds of other investors just like you.  Face it, we all have wants and needs as investors. If we didn't, then we aren't very active.  This session gives you the opportunity to tell everyone else in the room what you need.  Maybe you are looking for a specific type of property; maybe you need partners or training or a referral for a good plumber. Whatever it is, you get to ask for it.  Also, maybe you have something other investors need.  Maybe you have a property to wholesale or money to lend or appliances to sell.  If another investor could use it, you get to tell them about what you have.  This is fun and very fast-paced. It is also very effective. If we have time, we will also do another networking exercise and talk about some recent deals. There is no telling who you will meet or what you will find or sell in the Haves & Wants. Come prepared to listen, learn and share!

MARKET UPDATE with Alan Langston

MAIN MEETING:  Congressman David Schweikert
Our guest presenter, David Schweikert, US Congressman from Arizona, will provide a Washington perspective on several important housing issues that could affect you as an investor. Congressman Schweikert was raised in Arizona and has deep ties to Arizona's 6th District, which encompasses the northern Phoenix metropolitan area including the cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills and portions of Cave Creek and Carefree.  He has a history of investing in real estate through rental property, rehabs and foreclosures and is a past member of AZREIA. David is recognized as a fiscal conservative and detail-oriented "numbers guy," with a background in statistics and actuarial studies. Congressman Schweikert was an original co-sponsor of the JOBs Act and is a strong advocate for small business and proponent of measures to expand access to capital for emerging companies.  He is a lifelong resident of Arizona with strong ties to the financial security of the state. As Maricopa County Treasurer, he earned more the $300 million for the county.  David Schweikert is serving his fourth term in the United States Congress. He holds a seat on the Ways and Means Committee, having previously served on the Financial Services Committee. He also sits on the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, Co-Chairs the Valley Fever Task Force with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and is the Republican Co-Chair of the Blockchain Caucus, the Tunisia Caucus and the Caucus on Access to Capital and Credit.
