Nominations for 2015 Elections due by July 1, 2015
A great way to get to know more of your fellow Parks and Recreation professionals, see other parts of the state, work on your own professional advancement and contribute to you profession! President-Elect, Scott Swigert is currently soliciting nominations for officer elections for the following open slots on the 2015 ballot: (assume office 3/2016).
President-Elect - This candidate must have been a member in good standing for at least four years, and have previously served on the TRAPS Board of Directors. This is a three year commitment, to serve in the capacity as President-Elect, President, and then Past-President. Candidates should be prepared for considerable time commitments related to various meetings and for travel requirements.
Regional Director (Central and West) - These candidates must have been TRAPS members for the past four years, and be willing to represent their region as director. Requirements include the responsibility for coordinating and/or hosting annual training workshops, attending four annual board meetings, and serving on various standing committees. This is a two year term of office.
At-Large Director - This two-year term represents the state as a whole on the Society's Board of Directors. Commitments include serving on various standing committees and attending four board meetings.
All candidates must reside in Texas.

2015 NRPA Annual Conference State Housing Block is Open!
The state housing block will officially open with registration at 12 p.m. ET Friday, May 1. Register and reserve your room so you can join thousands of your colleagues September 15-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada for the premier park and recreation event of the year.
Once housing and registration opens, use the following username and password on the Wyndham Jade registration website to reserve rooms in your state block:
- Username: NRPA15
- Password: ARMADILLO
Housing and registration opens for the 2015 NRPA Annual Conference at 12 p.m. ET this Friday, May 1. You will be able to reserve rooms and register here at that time.
Please forward this message to your state association members who would like to be included in the room block.
Room Block Deadline: ALL individual names must be reserved into your block prior to July 15, 2015, EOB. Rooms remaining in your block after July 15, 2015 will be released for general sale.
Please Note: NRPA reserves the right to release hotel reservations of anyone holding a room but not registered for the conference as of August 15, 2015.
Changes, Substitutions, Cancellations: If you or your delegates require any type of modification or cancellation to a reservation you can do so online. Please have your WEB ID accessible (found on your confirmation). It is required to make changes to your record. In addition, modifications and changes can be sent in via email or fax to 972.349.7715.
Any requests for additional rooms will be honored, based upon availability. In order to confirm your current information, you must make all inquiries and changes through Wyndham Jade, not the hotel.
