The Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 educational and professional organization founded more than 75 years ago. TRAPS is committed to advancing the field of parks, recreation and leisure services in Texas.
There are approximately 2,000 professional and citizen-advocate members of the Texas Recreation and Park Society. The mission of the organization is to provide professional development, advocacy and resources to all who enhance the quality of life through parks, open spaces and recreation.

The TR Summit is quickly approaching! It will be Aug. 20-23 at Camp For All in Burton. Interested in being a speaker? Fill out the speaker proposal form and submit to the TRAPS office by May 31st.

Want to teach at the 2014 Institute in Corpus Christi?

TRAPS is now accepting education proposals for educational sessions at the 2014 Institute & EXPO Feb. 18-21 in Corpus Christi. Submit an education proposal to the TRAPS office by July 30th.
May is National Water Safety Month

With summer and swimming lessons just around the corner, it is important to practice water safety. May 2013 has been proclaimed Water Safety Month. There are many free resources available on the National Water Safety Month website.
