Closing the gender gap in technology: encouraging young women to enter technology fields.

The ITWomen Role Model Speakers Program (RMS) is an integral program for ITWomen.  Our mission is “to encourage young women in middle school and high school to enter the fields of Technology and Engineering, in order to reach their full potential and to make inroads to closing the gender gap in these fields”.  These students empowered with the knowledge of existing Technology and Engineering careers, the opportunity to participate in corporate internship programs and the availability of Scholarship funds.

How Can You Help?

  1. Volunteer to be a Role Model Speaker.

  2. Donate to support the Role Models Speakers Program 501(c)3. (Tax Deductible)

Donate to ITWomen Charitable Foundation to help close the gender gap in IT and technology

Who Are the Role Models?

The Role Model Speakers are ITWomen members and/or constituents - You!  Sharing your expertise and experience with local middle school and high school students who are considering or are being introduced to IT careers is a great way to personally make a difference and to support ITWomen. You can volunteer as much or a little time as you are available – you will make a difference in a girl’s life with just one Role Model Session – it is contagious you will want to be involved!

How Does the RMS Program Work?

For each partner there is a Role Model Speakers session once every three months.  Each session is about an hour long.  The sessions may be on the school site, our Partner’s facility, or conducted through video conferencing.  The topics are usually chosen by the students and can vary from Careers in Technology, How to use technology, to Resume writing and Interviewing skills.  There is an evaluation conducted at the end of each session.  This assists us in delivering the best program possible for the students.
