VVIP 2002: The Spirit Team
Salute to Our 2002 Volunteer Honorees
At the beginning of our 2001-02 fall season many of us
had uncertainties about what was happening globally and
locally; September 11th occurred and we had concerns
about our personal safety. Then Enron imploded, and
our community was affected locally with economic
and financial issues. It seemed like the worst of
times for many, but as I reflected I was reminded
of a quote from Albert Schweitzer: I don't know what
your destiny will be, but one thing I know, the only
ones among you who will be really happy are those who
have sought and found how to serve. How true! How true
it became for many more during the past year. We
demonstrated our patriotism by offering our services.
Specifically, HARRA and the running community proceeded
on with their races and programs with continued success.
This was because of YOU! Your loyalty, dedication, and
above all, your spirited support. HARRA races and programs
are an all volunteer effort so YOU have been instrumental
to the success of our activities, and have made a
tremendous difference. Salute!
